Programs
I hope you will join us as we kick off the fall season with a new designed specifically for participants who are either new or are becoming reacquainted with the Ascension parish.
Beginning this coming Sunday, September 30, the first in an ongoing series of ACF programs will be on discussions of the book, by Christopher Webber. Held in the Solarium each Sunday from 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM, discussions will be open to anyone wanting to learn more about the history, faith, and worship of the Episcopal Church. We also hope this new program will promote and nurture fellowship with other parishioners.
Other ACF programs designed for newcomers are also in the works. Be on the look-out for a "" inviting you to an . Located at 98 Plymouth Ave. in Rockville Centre, I along with our Vestry look forward to meeting in fellowship with you in a more relaxed and casual setting. Another program with a date that is yet to be determined will be a brief welcome ceremony & blessing during the 10:30 AM worship service. Please understand that this special service will not place you as an "official" congregant of the parish. Membership to a new parish is a matter of choice. Some join formally while others retain membership with another church where they feel rooted in their past. Nonetheless, our goal is simply to recognize and celebrate your presence while you are with us.
On behalf of myself and Ascension's Vestry, I am delighted of your interest and desire to become part of the Ascension family. If there is anything we can do to help you feel more welcome, please let us know!
Grace & Peace,
The Rev. Adam G.L. Bartholomew
